33 years ago today, on November 10th, 1975, the 729 foot freighter, Edmund Fitzgerald went down with all hands on Lake Superior and today sits in two pieces 530 feet down.
When I drove home from work just the other day the sister ship to her was coming into the outer marker in front of the house. Its amazing to think of a ship that big going down on the lake. I've sailed around her when she came in a few years ago, and she's MASSIVE. Even though she was dead center in the channel, she was churning a silt trail for miles.

Damn, it was 33 years ago? I remember that event, and I even remember seeing that ship docked for the winter in Sturgeon Bay.
